Sovereign investments is a company incorporated in the Republic of Namibia reg #: 98/309 as a pure general investment company to take a stake in association with other well selected and approved company or individuals or on its own. As expected therefore, the Group has a very diversified interest (portfolio) and hold stake in Banking, Fishing, Diamond Manufacturing, Investment Management, Property (including Farming), Energy (Grid and off-Grid) and General Commodity Supply.
The Group's property portfolio comprises of two (2) commercial Farms (beef) residential houses and flats and Commercial properties in the form of general dealer warehouses and Bonded warehouses on the border between Namibia and Angola at Oshikango
The Group participated in the formation of Powerline Africa (PLA) a company specializing in the construction of Transmission and Distribution Electricity lines- working in Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and DRC. The Sovereign Group has a 25% stake.
In order to complete a full circle of the energy sector, TGE was incorporated three (3) years ago to provide Solar Home Systems (SHS) to households not connected to the grid-Household in rural Namibia. Though still in infancy, TGE command a 39% market share. It is 100% owned by the Group
Established over eleven (11) years ago, Sovereign Asset Management (SAM) provide a value based investment management. It has won two (2) consecutive mandates from Government Institution Pension Fund (GIPF), the largest pension fund in Namibia. Total asset under management that are all invested on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange is R1.8Bn. Sovereign Group has 55% stake in SAM.
The Sovereign Group, via Sovereign investments (Pty) Limited has the capacity and capability in sourcing any requirement for its clients from anywhere in the world. These can be agricultural products and machineries, food, frozen and canned, salt and any ware material (Provided an End User certificate can be properly established and issued.
FNB is a Namibia Stock Exchange listed company with a market capitalization of N$9 Bn. Through Sovereign Capital (Pty) Ltd. The Group acquired four percent (4%) of FNB Holding in 2004
Yukor is the latest addition to the Sovereign Group. It has just won (Dec 2011) won a seven (7) years fishing right of the Horse Mackerel spice of ten thousand (10 000) metric tons per annum. Sovereign Group has a 20% stake in Yukor Fishing.
Established over ten (10) years agp, NAMCOT is a joint venture between the Steinmetz Group of Belgium, with Sovereign Group having thirty percent (30%) stake. NAMCOT cut and polishes diamond acquired from De Beers local mining venture.
